My mission is to help you become more accepting, loving, and aware of yourself and others, so that you reduce stress and anxiety, cope effectively with challenges, and take committed action to create a meaningful and productive life.
I work with adults, adolescents and couples with a variety of issues, including depression and anxiety; relationship problems; divorce and other losses; life transitions; stress management; spiritual problems; life-style changes; anger management; shame and fear issues; abuse, trauma and past wounds; self-esteem and confidence issues; adolescent issues; etc.
Clients needing medication or other mental health services are referred to qualified professionals or specific agencies and support groups.
My ideal client tends to have these qualities:
- Is self-motivated and ready to make lasting change—I generally limit myself to working only with serious, committed clients.
- Is willing to take risks and try new things—I will ask clients to think in new ways and take actions that may be different from their usual way of behaving.
- Values honest and direct feedback—I am committed to each client’s personal healing and growth.
- Understands what therapy is about—Clients should know the value of following through on assignments between sessions, keeping appointments, and being honest with themselves and me.
