My goal as a counselor is to help clients become more accepting, loving, and aware of themselves and others, so that they can live more fulfilling, fruitful, and stress-free lives.
I work with clients with a variety of issues, including depression & anxiety, marital problems, divorce & other losses and life transitions. stress management, spiritual problems, life-style changes, anger management, shame & fear issues, abuse & past wounds, self-esteem & confidence issues, adolescent issues, behavior problems in children, etc. Clients needing medication or other mental health services are referred to qualified professionals or specific agencies and support groups.
My ideal client tends to have these qualities:
Is self-motivated and ready to make lasting change—I generally limit myself to working only with serious, committed clients.
Is willing to take risks and try new things—I will ask clients to think in new ways and take actions that may be different from their usual way of behaving.
Values honest and direct feedback—I am committed to each client's personal healing and growth.
Understands what therapy is about—Clients should know the value of following through on assignments between sessions, keeping appointments, and being honest with themselves and me.
